Gars
Here are pictures of an Alligator gar. Anna likes to believe this is the kind of gar it was.
This is a spotted shortnose gar, which was what I think I saw, but the one I saw was not spotted.

*gasp* Thankfully I'm not going to swim in ANY lakes in Colorado anytime soon. That is scary looking. Poor Anna!

Wow, that's about as big as the sharks that we DON'T worry about!But somehow, those look mean. That's why you should always swim with someone who swims slower than you...

Actually they are not a very common fish, especially up in yuralls part of the country.
